There is no shortage of great restaurants to check out in the Heart of Georgian Bay, so this week we have rounded up five great eateries that are accessible by water. If you don’t have a boat don’t worry – all of these establishments are also accessible by car, so you can just drive there and enjoy the beautiful waterfront views.
1. World Famous Dock Lunch
The World Famous Dock Lunch has been serving up delicious food on Georgian Bay since 1957. Park your boat at the Penetanguishene town dock, and enjoy a meal on the Dock Lunch’s newly expanded patio. They serve breakfast sandwiches until 11am, and delicious grilled options the rest of the day. While you’re there, be sure to check out their Ice Cream Snack Shack for a sweet treat. To see their current specials and hours, visit the World Famous Dock Lunch’s Facebook page.
2. Captain Roberts’ Table
Captain Roberts’ Table is a great place to get brunch in Penetanguishene if you want delicious food and amazing views. The patio overlooks the water, and is easy to access from the docks in Penetanguishene Harbour. As a bonus, Captain Roberts’ Table is located right beside Discovery Harbour, which is a great historic site to tour after enjoying your brunch. They are not currently taking reservations and are instead working on a first come first served basis, but you can visit the Captain Roberts’ Table website to see their current hours and to scope out their menu before you go.
3. Boathouse Eatery
Boathouse Eatery is located in the heart of Downtown Midland and offers stunning views of Georgian Bay alongside their great lunch and dinner menus. If you can snag a reservation around dusk you will be rewarded with the amazing ambience of the patio once it is lit up for the night. This is also a great place to go if you’re after a sweet treat, as you can pick up Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream from Dockside Sweets and Treats. There is ample boat parking at the Midland Town Dock, and you can make your reservations on the Boathouse Eatery’s website.
4. Maple Canadian Pub
Maple Canadian Pub has three locations in our region, but their location at the Wye Heritage Marina is the one to check out if you’re after waterfront views. After docking your boat, enjoy lunch or dinner (and be sure to order at least one appetizer for the table because there are so many to choose from!) To look at their menu and make a reservation, visit the Maple Canadian Pub website.
5. The Queen’s Quay
The Queen’s Quay British Pub and Restaurant is located by Queen’s Cove Marina in Victoria Harbour and serves delicious British-inspired food. They also have a wide selection of Whiskey and Wine to peruse while soaking up the beautiful views. Visit The Queen’s Quay website to browse their menu and make a reservation.
