The Heart of Georgian Bay has been full of events this month and this weekend is no exception. To end your May in the best way, here are some don’t-miss events to kick off the summer.
For an event with more peace and tranquillity, enjoy Marsh by Moonlight at the Wye Marsh.
This event features a fantastic opportunity to see the marsh’s nighttime wildlife, as well as be able to tour the marsh on moonlit waters in a voyageur-style canoe. Taste bannock roasted over an open fire, accompanied by a hot drink that will make this experience unforgettable.

Birdbaths are not only beneficial for the birds, but they are fun to paint!
The Wye Marsh is offering a birdbath painting workshop, where you will learn how to paint from a bird’s-eye view using a technique called reverse “one stroke”. All the materials needed are provided. This is an excellent opportunity to be able to do some bird watching right from your own house! A birdbath will attract plenty of birds, especially with the warm summer weather.
Tickets are $25.00 per participant. Pre-registration is required. This is an aged 12+ event, and an adult must accompany any youth under the age of 16. For more details, click here.
