The Heart of Georgian Bay is a beautiful region that is full of great photo ops. Whether you prefer to share your photos on social media or tuck them away in photo albums, we have rounded up some of the most photogenic places in the area for your next impromptu photo shoot.

1  – Downtown Midland Murals

Did you know there are 41 murals scattered throughout downtown Midland? Spend an afternoon doing a self-guided tour of the 34 historic murals with the free guide found here. The murals tell the story of Midland’s history, and photograph beautifully. If you want a picture with you in it, head to one of the four #GBayWings murals, the locations of which can be found here.

2 – Awenda Provincial Park

Awenda Provincial Park is home to seven hiking trails ranging in length from 1 to 13km. All of these trails provide great opportunities for photos, but especially the beautiful boardwalk on the Beaver Pond Trail, as seen above. Find more information on all of Awenda’s trails here.

If you strongly believe that your phone should eat first when it comes to photogenic food, donuts from Georgian Bakery might be just what you’re looking for. They offer a wide variety of flavours, and the donuts look almost too pretty to eat. Next time you are downtown Midland pick up a donut, or six, and have a sweet photo shoot.

4 – Penetanguishene Rotary Champlain Wendat Park

Located along the shores of Georgian Bay, Penetanguishene Rotary Champlain Wendat Park is a beautiful place to head for a walk and to snap some pictures. Throughout the park are statues made by local artists representing the Anglophone, Francophone, Indigenous, and Métis heritage of Penetanguishene. Find more information about the park here.

5 – Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
