Whether you want to stick to the spooky side of the spectrum or the terrifying side, there are options for you in the Heart of Georgian Bay. Use our scary meter to determine which one is right for you.

Experience the phenomenon of outdoor exhibits of hand-crafted artificial pumpkins, all set against the night time backdrop of Discovery Harbour. This event has consistently been awarded one of Festivals & Events Ontario’s TOP 100 Events! Explore the grounds to find stunning displays of artificial pumpkins, roaming performers and refreshments. Family-friendly activities and the kidzone are perfect for all ages. For the brave – go through Macabre Mansion to find new characters lurking in the shadows.
NEW this year! Bosun’s Brig escape room experience! Gather your favourite people and use clues and enigmas to escape the gaol. Minimum 4 people, maximum 6 per group. This experience is available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only. This experience comes with a ticket price of $30.00 per person, and includes general admission to the grounds. Spaces are limited and reservations are required.
Thursday evenings have been designed exclusively for a drive-through experience. Perfect for families with small children, those with mobility issues or anyone who would like to experience Pumpkinferno from the comfort of their own vehicle. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are for pedestrians only.

Grimm Grounds is a large, linear theatrical horror maze, designed to be truly unique and terrorize it’s victims. As you make your way deeper into the maze you begin to realize the nightmare creatures get bigger and more horrifying with scare actor’s hiding in the most well hidden hiding spot’s imaginable.
There are 2 variations of this experience:
The Day Time Walkthrough is for families with young children and for those who want to avoid being scared. This mode allows guests to walk the maze during daylight hours, with no scare-actors, scary music or fx.
The Night Time Walkthrough is for the brave and individuals whom are looking to experience a truly unique Hallowe’en scare maze experience! . This mode includes terrifying big sound, theatrical lighting/fx and live scare-actors.
NEW THIS YEAR – Grimm Grounds will be bigger than ever with the expansion of all New horrific props, costumes and corridors. A bigger spooky town display and a New Jack-O-Lantern display will also be featured, and the Georgian Bay Barn Movie Screen will be screening classic family friendly Hallowe’en movies that will be projected during the Grimm Grounds event.

Tour the cemetery of St. James-on-the-Lines – the oldest cemetery in Penetanguishene – by lantern light, encountering many “spirits” of Penetanguishene’s past. Listen as they share their personal stories and discover the significant history of the church.
St. James on-the-Lines was built between 1836 and 1838 as the garrison church for the nearby military establishment, now known as Discovery Harbour. “on-the-Lines” referring to the supply lines from Fort York in present-day Toronto. During these early years the congregation was made up of soldiers from the establishment, military pensioners living on small two-acre grants along the lines, settlers from the farms in the area and townspeople from the developing town site at the foot of the bay.

Bravely listen to the first-hand experiences of unusual spiritual happenings at the Penetanguishene Centennial Museum. Included is a viewing of the Rescue Mediums television show, filmed at the museum. Also on display will be their notes and psychic drawings.
The Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives is located in one of Ontario’s last original general stores. Built in 1875 by Karl Maxillian (Charles) Beck, this historic building now hosts the stories of Penetanguishene’s cultural past and is said to be home to a few spirits.
