With summer winding down and back to school upon us, some may think that all the fun that summer brings is over, but, there is still so much to do here in the Heart of Georgian Bay!
Here are five upcoming events to keep the fun going right into Fall, in Midland, Penetanguishene, Tay and Tiny.
Location: Georgian Bay Park- 4230 Crossland Road Tiny, On When: September 10th, 2022Time: 11:00am to 9:30pm Admission: Adults $20.00, Children 6-12 $10.00, Children 5 and under are free Bring family and friends to Georgian Bay Park in Tiny Township for some great fun in the sun! With 100+ vendors, 7 bands, “beeline” zip line, birds of prey demonstrations, paintball shooting range and kids games! There is something for everybody at this amazing festival.
This year’s musical line-up includes headliner, Texas King, as well as Barstool Confession, Dylan Lock, Kat Chabot and the Carl Rundown Band, plus Elvis and Neil Diamond tribute acts.
If you’re a motorcycle rider, don’t miss the Georgian Bay Thunder Run! There will be 4 self-guided routes through various corners of Simcoe County. Registration is required and includes family admission to the festival, a t-shirt, complimentary tent camping and a bike block. Proceeds go toward a local charity.
Location: Various locations in Midland, Tay and TinyWhen: September 10th and 11th Admission: FreeMissed Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival? Not to worry! This butter tart inspired cycling route through North Simcoe is a great chance to get active and, of course, eat butter tarts.
This is an independent, choose-your-own-adventure style ride. Using the route map, you can bike any portion of the 55km route with many chances to get yummy butter tarts along the way. So if you love cycling and butter tarts this is the event for you!

This fall, you’re invited to discover what’s so amazing about a maple sugarbush in fall, as the leaves on the trees change from green to vibrant yellows, blazing oranges and crimson reds.
Visit Windlee Farms Maple Syrup on October 1 and 2 for a fun open house experience. This family owned and operated sugar bush located on 150 acres in Tiny Township.
In addition to sugar bush tours, you can also enjoy lumberjack and blacksmithing demonstrations, Birds of Prey demonstrations provided by the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, and traditional francophone music provided by local gems, Ariko.
This event is part of a province-wide Fall In Love With Maple, hosted by the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers’ Association at many maple syrup producers across the province between September 24 and October 2.
Location: Various farm in Tiny OntarioWhen: October 1st, 2022 Time: 9:00am – 4:00 pm Admission: $50.00/personThis self-guided family event is unique to say the least. It provides participants with the opportunity to explore the beauty of rural Heart of Georgian Bay, while getting thoughtful insight on local agriculture and how to support your local farmers and growers.
The Farmers will share their perspectives on farming and growing, the importance of local food, and its economic impact. This is also a great opportunity to purchase goods from your local farmers.
As an added twist, each of the six farm locations will feature an exciting experience, providing additional opportunities for learning and fun. Experiences include centrepiece making, wool spinning, blacksmithing, pesto making, pumpkin carving, and more.
Admission includes your wrist band, lunch provided by Farm 2 Door and some take-home goodies.
Location: Discovery Harbour When: Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October Time: Thursdays 7:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday-Sunday 6:00pm to 10:00pmAdmission: $8.00/person, Children 5 and under are freeExperience the amazing scenery of Discovery Harbour by night light, accompanied by outdoor exhibits of hand crafted artificial pumpkins. With family friendly activities, and activities for visitors looking to test their courage, this spooky event is great for all ages.
Beware of the Terror Zone! New characters will be lurking in Grim Reapers Grove and Macabre Manor. These attractions are not recommended for children under the age of 12, and may require reservations.
This year, Thursday evenings are reserved for a drive-through experience. Exploring the historic site involves a significant amount of walking, so a drive-through experience allows anyone to enjoy this wonderful event.
