School is out and it’s heating up outside – summer has officially arrived! We have compiled five frozen treats from the Heart of Georgian Bay to help you and your family beat the heat.

If you find yourself in downtown Penetanguishene, check out Café Kittyhawk for their assortment of unique gelato flavours. Their menu of flavours rotate so there is always something new to try. Affagoto – gelato served with a shot of espresso – is a must-try for coffee lovers. Gelato and coffee together – what’s not to love?
2. Wyevale Jug City

Wyevale Jug City offers up some excellent soft serve, and is the perfect place to stop during a day exploring Tiny Marsh or other trails in Tiny Township. They offer both vanilla and chocolate soft serve, but the crowd favourite is the swirl that is the perfect combination of the two flavours. You can’t get any better than that!

Georgian Grill serves a wide variety of frozen desserts including Breyers ice cream, soft serve, and frozen yogurt. Those looking for a dairy-free option will be happy to know there is vegan soft serve – meaning there is truly something for everyone. Please note that to access Balm Beach you must have a Tiny Township parking permit, but you can visit Georgian Grill by parking in their customer parking lot.

Lovers of Kawartha Dairy ice cream are sure to enjoy Dockside Sweets & Treats, The Boathouse Eatery’s ice cream shack. They scoop over 25 fan-favourite Kawartha Dairy flavours, and are located right on the waterfront so you can enjoy your ice cream with a view! As a bonus, they are open daily from 11-9, so you can enjoy an ice cream while watching the sunset.
