Now in its 20th year, “First Light” is a must-see event with a great line-up of family activities and performers, all amidst the spectacular glow of over 6,000 candles.

Visitors can stroll the candlelit paths which lead to a variety of fun family activities, up to Martyrs' Shrine. The cookhouse is filled with the sights and smells of delicious baked goods, historic blacksmithing will also be demonstrated, and corn husk doll making is offered in the Brébeuf Event Centre, one of many hands-on activities available every evening. Music will fill the air, including Indigenous drumming and singing, lively Franco-Ontarian folksongs, and community and school choirs performing seasonal music on Thursdays and Fridays.

For some early holiday shopping, over 50 exceptional artisans, craft & gourmet food vendors will be in the museum and the Brébeuf Event Centre. Sainte-Marie gift shop "Flint & Timber Co." will be open each night.

Take advantage of the First Light package which includes entry to the event, a food voucher for dinner at a local restaurant and an overnight stay and breakfast at the Comfort Inn (call for reservations: 705-526-2090).
