Dan Needles is funny guy who will make you laugh about the interface between the old rural community and the modern world. He is best known as the playwright behind the popular Wingfield Farm Series which has played across Canada. It was performed at the Stratford Festival and aired on CBC. He has written numerous books and plays and was the recipient of the 2003 Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour. Dan was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada by David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, for "celebrating our rural communities as the playwright of the much-loved Wingfield Farm series, and for championing the dramatic arts outside of Canada’s major centres." Dan now lives on a farm, writes books and plays and speaks at conferences and banquets.
