Another busy summer planned for Midland Harbour as we'll see NINE visits from the beautiful Pearl Seas Cruises Pearl Mist cruise ship here in The Heart of Georgian Bay. We will also have FOUR viditd from the MS Vistory cruise ship as well! Take note of the dates and make a plan to visit Downtown Midland to take her in, shop, dine, and relax!

Ghost Tours

Location: Discovery Harbour, 93 Jury Drive, Penetanguishene, Ontario

Time: Every Wednesday Night from July 5th - August 30th starting at 9pm
Every Wednesday night from July 5th - August 30th - 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm
A spooky guided tour by candlelight featuring encounters with apparitions in the window and footsteps in the hallway.  Tales of actual people associated with the Military and Naval Establishments will include that of the McGarraty brothers who died on the march from York in June of 1831 and the tale of Private James Drury who died New Year’s Eve 1836 on guard duty at Officers’ Quarters.
- Please note that this event is primarily outdoors with visitors walking throughout the historic site.  
- The tour cost is $10.00 per person plus HST.
- The tour goes rain or shine.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
- Please, no pets are allowed
- Recommended for ages 10 and up

Sainte-Marie by Candle Light

Location: Sainte-Marie among the Hurons, 16164 Hwy12, Midland, ON

Time: Every Thursday Night from July 6th - August 31st
A guided tour of Sainte-Marie that highlights French and First Nations stories and the people who lived here from 1639 to 1649. Individuals such as Master Carpenter Charles Boivin and Blacksmith Louis Gaubert will be highlighted. The evening concludes in the Longhouse with a traditional First Nations story which is a memorable experience and not to be missed.

Please, no pets are allowed.  Recommended for ages 10 and up.

- Please note that this event is primarily outdoors with visitors walking throughout the historic site.  
- The tour cost is $10.00 per person plus HST.
- The tour goes rain or shine.

TugFest Georgian Bay

Location: Midland Town Dock, Midland

TugFest Georgian Bay is back at the Midland Town Dock for 2017, bringing the matchless family experience that featues a host of both historical and distinctive work boats and recreational tug-style vessels.

2017 presents a combined specacle of both TugFest & HarbourFair to the town dock along with craft vendors and entertainers.

TugFest & HarbourFair offer visitors a full lineup of marine and family entertainment activities including the spectacular tugboat parade of lights, tug parade, tug races, the entertaining Tug Push and the ever popular tour of the boats. At the same time, there is continuous entertainment, displays, vendors, artists and kids and family activities on the dock.

The Bayside Market & Music is a new market set upon the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay in Penetanguishene. The market will be a great way to take in some of the local food, culture, crafts, jewelry, art and much more!! Dee-lish Food Truck will be on site, so come after work, stay for dinner, shop and enjoy the entertainment!! ON STAGE 6 PM - 8PM "Kitty Unplugged" NEW location for 2017, vendors will be situated around our beautiful brand new outdoor Amphitheatre at Parc Rotary Champlain Wendat Park and local musicians and bands will be scheduled to perform on the stage every Friday evening. Get Outdoors Festival

The Bay Studio Tour

Location: Penetanguishene and Tiny Township, ON

The Bay Studio Tour features local artists from the towns of Penetanguishene and Tiny, Ontario, along with guest artists from the surrounding area. Their studios and galleries are located on or near the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay. 

In 2017 there are 28 artists participating and displaying their work during the tour at various locations. Our talented participants create visual arts in all mediums including but not limited to; sculpture, pottery, photographic art, textiles, jewellery, glass, native art, and much more.

The annual tour guide with artist bios, images and contact information, along with a tour map will be available from many locations throughout the area, including the tourist information centres in Midland and Penetanguishene. The tour runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm on both Saturday & Sunday.

Murder Mystery at the Museum

This murder mystery isn’t a single, unchanging theatre piece - it’s an event that plays out through the museum throughout the evening. Keep your eyes out for whispered secrets, dropped notes, and knowing glances. Work alongside others to compare what you have seen and heard, or just enjoy the plot as it unfolds. Will you be the one to paint us a picture of the Munchausen Murder? A night of fine art, fine acting, and fine dining.

The Silver Goose CX Race

Location: Little Lake Park, Midland, ON
Cyclocross is a great spectator sport that takes place on a short circuit measuring 2.5-3.5km. The courses feature steep hills, tree roots, rocks, sand pits, and barriers, including stairs and hurdles. Racers are forced to dismount their bikes to get through these barriers, quickly remounting as they race to a final bell lap for thirty minutes to one hour, depending on the race category.

Skate Trail

In January 2018, we are introducing several new products to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday, including a Skate Trail along the shores of Penetanguishene and Georgian Bay!
